Triple awards for our Nomura Bank project

Nomura’s new City premises has won industry recognition for its state-of-the-art foodservice facility.

The complex fit-out, over multiple floors of the Angel Lane building, won  C&C Catering Equipment Ltd three prestigious awards at this year’s CEDA (Catering Equipment Distributors Association) Grand Prix Awards.  The awards, which recognise excellence in kitchen installation projects within the cost and profit sectors, announced C&C Catering their overall winners for the £2.6m Nomura project.  The project also won them the “Cost Sector Larger Project” title and a special award for “Outstanding Achievement in Project Management”, which is supported by the FCSI (Foodservice Consultants Society International).

The complex catering scheme within the Japanese bank’s ambitious Project Shinkyo scheme (Japanese for ‘New Home’) was completed within 10 months of tendering.  It included Benugo’s branded cafe bars, pantries, kitchens, main staff dining areas for 4,300 staff, executive dining and a roof garden spread across seven different floors.  Together with design consultants Humble Arnold Associates, C&C Catering supplied, delivered and installed the catering infrastructure at Nomura’s new headquarters.  The project was C&C Catering’s largest to date.

Nomura’s management also recognised C&C’s Project Manager Mark Roxburgh’s dedication and achievement in delivering the high quality project successfully by awarding him a Shinkyo sumo for outstanding customer service.  Paul Gardener, Head of Foodservice Facilities at Nomura commented, “It was quite an achievement to help us achieve our goal of getting everything done inside the year. Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and the C&C team.”

Further plaudits came from Toby Cordery, Senior Project Manager for Nomura who said, “Given the extremely fast programme, we had to work with a partner we could trust, who were pro-active and were capable of delivering the highest quality.” Andrew Humble, Director at Humble Arnold Associates also added, “There are very few UK companies are capable of delivering a catering scheme of this size and complexity on such a tight timescale. C&C is one of them.”

Peter Kitchin, Managing Director of C&C commented, “This project has shown what we can achieve and we’re delighted with the performance of our team on such a highly challenging but rewarding task.”
